- Do Now: Journal to address the question, "What makes a short story, a short story?"
- Then: Read/Listen to Edgar Allen Poe's "Masque of the Red Death" and attempt to identify the parts of the short story (using the back of 'This Week in Language Arts')
- After: Summarize the activities that take place in the six rooms (each group gets one)
- Next: What does the seventh room symbolize? How does this symbolize the theme of the story? What message does the story convey about attempting to avoid conflict?
- Finish: Journal about what you might want to write your short story about
- Finish revision Draft 3 and print (due on Monday, April 8)
- Study for Quiz # 26: ate, ary/ery/ory, ant, cian, cule/ling, cy, dom
- Think about ideas for a short story- focus on theme and/or character (three ideas due next Tuesday/Wednesday in class)
