Biology: Mossman (1,3,4,5, 6 & 7)

Week of 10/23/11-10-31/11
General Message:  You need to be studying chapter 7 to prepare for the test next week please make sure you review the following.....
7.1:  The Microscope, types of cells, and people involved in the discovery of the cell.
7.2:  Cell Organelles and their function within the cell, along with the differences between organelles in plant and animal cells.
7.3:  Review the structure of the plasma membrane, diffusion, osmosis, passive transport, active transport, endocytosis and exocytosis.
7.4:  Please start looking over this information on how cells organize to form tissue, then organs, then organ systems and how those systems work together. 
Chapter 7 Exam will be next week Tuesday (classes 1,3,5 & 7) and Wednesday (2 & 6)

Biologyand Honors Biology:
Monday 10/24/11
1.  Do Now
2.  Chapter 7.3 Cell Transport Worksheet Due on Thursday/Friday
3.  Notes on 7.3:  Plasma membrane structure, diffusion and osmosis
4.  Iodine starch demo, along with osmosis with eggs demo
5.  Lab for the rest of the week you must wear shoes!

Tuesday 10/25/11 and Wednesday
1.  Do Now
2.  Review Demo results and concepts
3.  Finish 7.3 notes:  Passive transport, active transport, endocytosis and exocytosis
4.  Osmosis with carrots lab set up  (must have close toed shoes)
5.  Finish up 7.3 Cell transport worksheet as homework  due next class.

Thursday 10/27/11 and Friday 10/28/11
1.  Do Now
2.  Correct the 7.3 Cell transport worksheet
3.  Finish the Osmosis with carrots lab (must have close toed shoes)
4.  Anlaysis Questions from lab will be worked on however anything not finished will be homework.
5.  Please review for the chapter 7 exam this weekend as it will be next week Tuesday November 1st and Wednesday November 2nd!
6.  Don't forget your Extra credit Vocab graphic organizer.  Instruction were given on the back side of the give one get one cell structure work sheet.

**Honors Biology needs to be working on their independent science fair experiment!  Deadlines are fast approaching so you better check your packet and the sciencebuddies website to see if you are on track!
