Tuesday and Wednesday, January 18 and 19
Classwork:
  1. Do Now: Read 'This Week in Language Arts' and Take-Home Roots Quiz #16
  2. Then: Introduce 5 Reading Strategies for Hiroshima
  3. Practice reading strategy while listening to the first 6 pages read aloud
  4. 15 minute SSR session using the chosen strategy
  5. Groups synthesize the results
  6. Groups share results with the class

Homework:

  1. New Roots List #17: ultima, uni, vac, vert/vers, vict/vinc, viv/vita/vivi, voc, volcan/vulcan
  2. Complete Roots Quiz #16 for Thursday/Friday
  3. Sign-up for Independent Reading Tuesday/Wednesday by the END OF THE DAY!

  2. 15 minute SSR session with reading strategy
  3. 3 minute break to compare notes
  4. 15 minute SSR session with reading strategy
  5. 10 minutes for group synthesis
  6. Groups present synthesis to rest of class
